Nanotech creates big session

A small subject generated a big turnout here Wednesday for the opening of Ohio's first statewide summit on nanotechnology.

The event, which concludes today, drew 470 participants to the day-long series of technical presentations and panels at the Hope Hotel and Conference Center, organizers said.

SCIENCE OF THE SMALL: Nanotechnology could be just what ailing economy needs

More than 400 educators, scientists and business and industry leaders have been meeting in Dayton this week for the first Ohio Nanotechnology Summit.

This discussion needed to happen. Nanotechnology is a broad term that refers to the manipulation of materials on a molecular level and the creation of microscopic machines. The technology could revolutionize science, medicine and industry.

OCTS funded by Ohio Board of Regents

The Ohio board of regents will support a cooperative program of undergraduate teaching using access grid technology and Ohio's Third Frontier Network. Currently work on this project is underway involving the physics departments at several universities.
